Random Friday Postpalooza...

May 31, 2013

Okay because I'm a new blogger who recently added the follower button to my blog and need some blogger mates I'm hosting a RFP Fest, lets see how big this gets. The whole point of this fest is to network and meet new bloggers. So here is the deal, its very simple.

  1. State something random that you did on a particular Friday, doesn't have to be too personal
  2. Invite 13 random bloggers to participate with this specific invite: TAG YOUR IT... repost the rules
  3. Create a mini story about the 13 bloggers you chose, using their blog names
  4. Follow and/or subscribe to those 13 blogs (if you haven't already)& the one who tagged you

1. On this particular Friday I didn't go to sleep until 5am, I was being a drone to tumblr.
2. They are linked in the story below...
3. Welcome Readers, this is a story about Fame Liquor & Love, wild flower child, Jasmine Paige wanted to take a trip. She heard there were butterflies on mars and decided to visit, however she didn't want to travel alone. So she invited Oleta Eilis, an odd girl, who was an bohemian like you. I could tell that these girls were looking for an adventure, it's what I'm feeling. Once they arrived on mars they met a gracious ghost, who was kind enough to show them where the butterflies were. He talked about how there was a queen named xoJaniecyxo, who had some epic thread and yarn, they could use it to make a net strong enough to catch a mars butterfly. They gracious ghost told them in order to get to the queen epic thread they would need to visit the show by valeriya called Boast It, to get the approval of the queen. They got the approval, made an awesome net, and caught a rare mars butterfly. The End.

Okay I had fun writing that story, as short as it was, lol. Anyways, hopefully I could meet some new blogger buddies and get this Random Friday Postpalooza on a roll. Till next time...

Sincerely Fay,

Response to Pop Survey: Do you write in your books?

May 30, 2013

Hey luvs,

So I came across a jazzy article while scanning through Ploughshares Literary Magazine; Pop Survey: Do You Write in Your Books? , and I immediately was triggered.

The gears inside my head started to roll and my hand began twitching. I decided to do a response to this article here on my blog. Books to me represent an untold story, ready to be told and dissected. Books are small impressions of the authors soul, would writing in a book destroy it. Hell, no!

I am absolutely horrified when I buy a new book. One, although I really want to read the book and discover the story it wouldn't feel right if its not worn in. Two, I need to break the binding, remove that front paper covering (if its a hardcover book) to see its beauty, throw the book on the floor, stick things in it (bookmarks or stick notes), and bend the pages as the book aroma find its way to my nose.

So, absolute pristine books doesn't have the same feel to me. Its like its a stranger screaming get off my front steps, there is no warm open invitation. I need to be enticed and get completely immersed in the authors world, in order for that to happen I need to feel invited in. I love to dabble and write in my books, I need a way to communicate with the author, I need to connect. I feel like  I can read a book over and know that we connected if there is doodles and writing in the blank spaces.

Yes I would buy a book with markings in the inside only because I get to see how someone us viewed the book and how they connected with the story. I don't personally feel that markings inside a book should ruin their re-sale value but hey, to each their own- right.

Worn, written, doodled books are the best!!!

Interview with my Brother

May 29, 2013

Hello Luvs,
Sorry I haven't posted recently, I have been sick (usually associated with little to no energy). So I have not dragged myself to go and write (which usually does not happen). Okay so today read will be about what inspired me to do this post.

So I was having awesome conversation with my brother about the role of internet in our society (this all took place while he was gaming), I said that if internet wasn't used by people 15 and under, people would be investing their time in things more productively. Parents would be able to tell their kids to go outside and play, go to the library (my haven, second home), great way to use your brain to think of things to do and to exercise and get some fresh "city" air.

He replied, lol. He said then "most people will complain about having to walk or go to the library every time they had a report or needed to do something and that will take a lot of time, it would be much simpler to just look it up on the computer." So driving me into my Nancy Drew personal, I conducted an interview.

1) How do you feel about the whole concept that "the library is out-dated"?
How can a library ever be outdated, there is a limit to what you can get from the computer.
2) What are some pros about the library?
At least the info is true, you can alter a lot of things on the internet.
Better environment to learn things in, without the distraction or annoying pop-ups.
3) What are some cons?
Time consuming, looking for things.
4) Do you think libraries will become non-existent in about 100 years?
No, I do not, its a tradition of american culture, there is still a lot of people who love going to the library.

Let me know your take on the matter...
Sincerely Fay,

My Summer Closet Theme

May 26, 2013

Hello Luvs,
Its summer time and you know what that means maxi skirts and dresses, shorts of all types, one shoulder blouses, xtra large shirts, and print lots of it...

So this is what I plan on rocking this summer. This summer theme is earth tones, yep I have a summer theme. It makes it easier to sort through the mess that is my closet. By setting up a theme    for your summer wardrobe you can set aside certain clothes that you won't need or wear and this limits the problem question>>>> "WHAT TO WEAR".

Capri's/boyfriend pants + blazer/jean or cargo jacket + heels/platforms = edgy look, unique look

You can also accessorize your outfit to make it unique to you...accessories are key!!!

Pattern can be casual or can be dressed up....

Let us not forget our shorts, time to show some leg....

And of course our solid basic color dresses that we can play with is an essential summer must have!!!

That is all for now luvs,
Sincerely Fay,

Natural Lifestyle...Crystal Therapy

May 25, 2013

Hello Soul-children,

So I have been doing so research on holistic living or just healthy living for a while now and have came across some pretty interesting things. I am trying to go through a mind, body, and soul cleansing/healing to renew myself in life, all this for the better.

No I am not some health junkie, I should start watching what I consume because it will affect my body but I will take my healing journey a step at a time, this journey should be fun and relaxing- not stressful and painful.

So last time I talked about aromatherapy, this time I will tell you about crystals.

Crystals have a history of being used for healing. Each variety of crystal has a unique internal structure, which causes it to resonate at a certain frequency. It is this resonance that is said to give crystals their healing abilities.Using this resonance in our everyday lives can restore stability and balance to our body energy fields by aiding our body own natural healing.

Crystal therapy is a gentle non-invasive form of alternative healing that works holistically to harmonize the mind, body, emotions and spirit, helping to increase our feeling of well-being, neutralize negativity, lift depression and to help us to become integrated, whole beings.

Crystals can be placed on specific points of the body to bring relief or can be swept over the body. Specific color crystals can be used for chakra healing.

Below are some of the symptoms that can be helped with crystal therapy. The earth will provide us with everything we need, if only we look for it!!!

  • Headaches
  • Difficult Sleeping
  • Lack of Energy
  • Lack of Libido
  • Difficult Concentrating
  • Healing the Mind
I will be trying this soon, and will update you about my experience with this type of natural healing in future posts. So go ahead and take a look into this, let me know what you find.

Your fellow soul-child Fay,

Hit with the Do Things Bug...

May 24, 2013

So hey there Luvs,

So have you ever done something so out of your comfort zone that you couldn't believe you done it? Yes, I would love to hear about it, but lets get back to me (joking).

So that's whats been going on with me lately. I have recently got hit with the "do things" vibe.

So whats the "doing thing" vibe, Fay? Well it is when you do a crazy load of things, and aren't content with not doing anything. The need to do things are great, thus you end up doing things you normally wouldn't do (unless you are a doer).

So for me I have been tweeting a lot lately mostly just quotes from myself or others. If you follow me on twitter then you know that I don't really tweet a lot, never did understand how to use twitter, LOL. But other than twitter, I have been doing a new thing called "yoga".  I have also the urge to do my hair, twice a day. I am finding that I am in love with DIY projects, I look up new ideas daily. Also I'm going to the local park for some R&R, or just a space to clear my mind and write in my journal and junk.

I have an urge to do something different everyday, will I do it, IDK!! Just randomness, thanks for reading it!!!

Sincerely Fay,

Live Life to the Fullest #summeredition

May 21, 2013

Hey loves,

So I have compiled a list of things I would like to do in the summer to live up my summer, hopefully you could use my list as a guide or add on to it or idk, maybe ignore it all. LOL!

  • I plan to live life (summer at the moment)to the fullest, as my totally original title say (yeah I know).
  • Search for classes to take in the summer to get ahead, go scholar (yeah right no scholar yet)
  • Look for poetry jams in your community (highly requested)
  • Attend a lot of free/paid music festivals, try to at least attend one that is out of your normal musical genre
  • Go to free events near you, sometimes these community events will surprise you
  • Do something at least once a week to improve your well being, internal/external health, state of mind, moods, etc (yoga, exercise, zen, meditation, watching/hearing something relaxing, staying on tumblr mabye)
  • Last, but not final please don't forget to laugh, laugh hard-love yourself and others

All of these ideas is a great way to network and meet interesting new people (if only I wasn't so socially awkward)...let me know if you all have any more things you would add or change

Learning To Let Go

May 17, 2013

I am learning to let go a lot of negativity in my life and it feels good. This might be lengthy but bear with me.

  • hostile
  • angry
  • quiet
  • withdrawn
  • no trust in people
These are all things that described me, notice the use of past tense.

I was the girl who if you burned me, I would burn you back. I was quick to pop off and yell, scream, and win the argument-whether I was right or wrong.
I didn't trust people because  I quickly learned that most people were untrustworthy, but as humans I know now that we are not perfect and mistakes make up our life. It's how we grow and learn. I didn't see the point in making permanent relationships because I had the kind of mentality that people come and go as quick as you can blink. Now while this mentality of mine is true, I failed to realize that the bonds I made with these people last forever.
I always harbored hate, disgust, and anger...these emotions were my first skin, there was no second skin.
You wouldn't have known was underneath even if you tried. On the outside I had to be sane and okay. While underneath I was confused and hurt. Then I didn't understand how there could be such thing as wrongfulness on this earth.

But I grew from my experiences, I was not raised to be the type to break easily. However, even during these times I always strive to help others, I never made someone feel as low as I felt, and I always smiled. I took what made me angry, hurt, and scared-I put those emotions to good use or so I thought. I used those emotions as fuel for me achieving things to prove others wrong. But then I realized, I have nothing to prove to no one on this earth!

I used poetry as an outlet to heal me, it literally saved me from doing a whole bunch of stupid things. I became a friend that others could tell their secrets to, I would be there with my ears and an open mind. I didn't judge people harshly, because I wouldn't want to be judged. I strive for the positive in life, and use it to inspire others.

I'm not going to lie there are times when I feel the past breathing on my back, but I take out my fan and keep it pushing. There are better things in life that needs far more of my attention, for example my future. Just thought I would share this with you all.

-Sincerely Fay,

Packing Up & Moving Out

May 16, 2013

Hey there lovelies, this week has been hectic.

This update will be short and simple. As you know this is finals week for me. I have a total of three finals to take this week-1 down 2 to go! Not only do I have to study, or quick review my subjects- I also have to pack!

Now packing is the probably the worst thing to do, unloading is easy, moving is easy> moving out is a whole new type of stressful ju-ju. I have thee hardest time moving out of places its like how did I have 50% more than what I came with, how did I accumulate this mess.

Ugh! The struggles of being a college student, dorming is not always as glamorous as it seems, there are many pitfalls.Moving out maybe the worst of all....

As you can tell this is a rant!!! Or maybe I'm just stressing out over finals!! Be blessed, everyone!

-Sincerely Fay,

I just want to say happy MOTHERS DAY to all the mothers in the world right now, I am so grateful for my mother I can't even begin to describe it, okay well I can try!

So I want to thank Keymesha Bailey for bringing me into this world, I don't know what I would ever do without her. My mom gave birth to me in the best conditions possible, loving family and my father. She told me that I am truly a gift because I am the only girl she gave birth to that lived. So for my mother I was a very special baby.

My mom is such a strong, CARING, loving mother. She have such a beautiful soul and the brightest spirit I have ever seen. My mom would sacrifice everything for me and so I am grateful to have her in my life. There is never a day I would want to spend without this special lady. So I want to say I love ya momma!!! Also go to my poetry tab to see the poem I made for you!!!!!

-Forever and Always your baby girl Fay,

My Book Update...

May 7, 2013

So I want to say first and foremost that I am thankful for you who read.

I have come to the decision that I want to create a series of poems that in detail explain my past experiences, starting from the beginning up until the present.

I am nervous because I'm literally letting you into a locked part of my soul, but my idea is being put into action with the hope that my story, my experiences will help and/or inspire others.

I want to be able to reach thousands who want something they can connect to and enjoy, whether  a part of my story is sad. Lets see, my poetry posts goes up the same day if not a day or two after my posts on here, so just stop by my poetry tab.

Uh, lets see well I guess I want to know, how can a story affect someone's life?
{seen my response in the next post or two...lol}

-Sincerely Fay,

Friends and Energies

May 3, 2013

Hey there my lovely readers,

Lately, I have been trying to debrief and relax to focus my mind in preparation for next week. Funny thing is my mind took a vacation so I can't think straight right now. Anyways, today I want to talk about different energies and people and why lately I have been more drawn into myself.

So recently I have being dealing with problems among my group of friends, like my circle have dwindled down to a triangle. Its fine with me, but it is hard to adjust  to the change because I'm not used to not having a group of friends, I'm the kind of person who revels in the company of others.
I've come to realize that as people grow we change and it is apart of life, a cycle we can't change. Our experiences mold us into what we will become, thus we all have different energies. Thus my group of friends have different energies, but usually friends energies tend to compliment each others  allowing for a certain person to feel ease around the others.

However, when one person energy changes abruptly, it causes an imbalance- irritations and altercations tend to arise as a by-product of that change. So then, your energies don't compliment each others and for some odd reason you lose friends. But then I figure this is apart of life too.

I just want to be able to have friends that could stay through thick and thin.

Have any of you ever experienced this and how did you grow from the experience????

-Sincerely Fay,

Herbal Lifestyle...hmm

May 1, 2013

Hello Bloggers,

So this blog will be a bit short but packed full of interesting things. So I ran into some herbal lifestyle sites and got interested in a lot of the stuff and decided to share it.

>>> Aromatherapy
The practice of using essential oils to increase psychological and physical health.

  • Essential Oils
  1. An essential oil is a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential oils are also known as volatile oils, ethereal oils or aetherolea, or simply as the "oil of" the plant from which they were extracted, such as oil of clove. An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant.
  2. Most common essential oils —> lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus

  • Essential Oil Blends
>>>Blending of different essential oils to get desired effect.
  1. The chemistry of the Oil – This determines its volatility, viscosity and its properties.
  2.  The Desired Therapeutic Action – Blending correctly allows for a synergistic effect within the        blend. This means the action of the oil is increased by mixing several oils together.
  3. The Sequence of the Blend –  Changing the sequence can change the properties along with fragrance.
  • Aroma Spritzers
  1. Aroma Spritzers are a simply way to enjoy the benefits of aroma therapy. Essential oils are blended with spring water in an easy to use spray bottle.
  • Floral Waters
  1.  Lightly scented waters distilled from fresh or dried plants and flowers that help retain the healing benefits and aromatic qualities.
  • Diffusers
  1.  Creates a mist that effectively spreads scent throughout your home or environment.
